Abstract
The exploration of natural dyes are interesting. Who would have thought that so many hues and range of colours can be extracted from a single source! I used five different plant base resources to extract dyes and they are turmeric, roselle, butterfly pea, mangosteen and red cabbage. These plants are also where I draw inspiration for design. I enjoyed the fact that my design inspiration and colouring came from the same source. The outcome of that exploration are beautifully designed textiles. I am happy to have created a series of textile pieces that are eco-friendly.
