Abstract
The course focuses on the literacy skills learners need for dealing with academic discourse at the postgraduate level. Students apply genre approach and strategies to examine the micro and macro elements of various text-types found in the academia. Through text analyses and discussions, they identify the communicative purpose, rhetorical structures and lexico-grammatical features of texts, and reflect how these elements manifest as multimodalities in the academic context.
