TSL015 : Academic reading / Faculty of Education

This reading course for intermediate students is a four-hour course that meets twice a week for fourteen weeks. This is the second series of two reading courses that will reinforce the essential reading skills and strategies that have been covered in the previous reading course. In this course, students will later be exposed to texts of different genres as to give them a more comprehensive picture of academic reading. The reading materials provided will require careful evaluation and judgment which goes beyond basic reading comprehension skills. This course will guide students to develop inferential and critical thinking skills in becoming effective and active readers.
