Abstract
This course is designed to enhance the English communication skills of Mathematics teachers to enable them to teach effectively using English as the medium of instruction. It will be categorized into three areas of competencies, which consists of communication skills enhancement in the classroom such as explaining, discussing and interacting; proper language usage for teaching mathematics using accurate terminologies and language development ideas to encourage the continuous interest in Mathematics teaching. The first area of competency aims to enhance the communication skills in the classroom, especially through class lessons and activities. In the second area of competency, the teacher will develop proper language for teaching in the classroom through the correct usage of related terminologies. Finally, the third area will be focusing on communication development with peers in the wider discourse community regarding Mathematical issues in mathematics education.
