EDM701 : Educational leadership in international contexts / Faculty of Education

This course introduces learners to the basic principles, concepts and philosophies underlying educational leadership with a focus on instructional leadership. Besides that the course will focus on discussions and readings on how to become a highly effective instructional leader in educational institutions by stressing on aspects such as types of leadership, leadership and motivation, teaching, learning and assessment, effective communication and leading teams through effective empowerment, strategic problem solving and decision-making. This course will also focus on effective organisational management by assessing organisational culture and climate and developing effective school leadership amidst current issues, concerns and challenges as a result of globalisation and internationalisation.
