Abstract
This course examines the history of malaysian and ancient art from ancient times to the present. Through readings, research, slides, videos, and museum/gallery visits, as well as intervieews with visual arts artist/artisan students will view significant artworks from local as well as around the world. Interpretation skills will be important in the description, analysis, and comparison of these works. Students are encouraged to keep a notebook/visual research to record class discussion/ art workshop on significant historical events, art periods/styles, specific artworks, and issues/themes that connect these artworks.
