Abstract

This action research had done to solve the problem of students in class 4A of Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 11 (3). The students could not play the recorder according to the counter melodies simultaneously. 8 students who had average knowledge of music were involved in the study. The focus of this study was to overcome the shortcomings and errors that were commonly made by students. They were confused while playing the recorder because of losing concentration. Early surveys showed that students were not able to play counter melodies simultaneously. Inside-Outside Circle cooperative learning method help students to overcome the problem while at the same time helps them to focus on playing the recorder. The findings were obtained from the subjects through questionnaires, reflections, interviews and tests. The result showed that students had mastered the skill of playing the counter melodies. The Post-test results showed that all students were able to play recorder accurately in different counter melodies at the same time. Inside-Outside Circle cooperative learning method was very helpful in improving counter melodies recorder playing skills.
