Abstract

Music education is one of the elective subjects contained in the curriculum Education in Malaysia. However, Music as serious by not emphasized by the school. This problem has existed for a long time, but this situation still persists until today . Therefore, this action research was conducted to identify the students' perceptions toward learning music. Respondents in this study involved 30 students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Chepor, Ipoh Perak. Respondents were randomly selected among the year 6 student. This study represents a survey and data collected through a questionnaire containing 15 items to measure interest and attitudes towards the subjects of Music. Data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS. Descriptive statistics involves measuring min through data collection and questionnaire answers. Data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS. Descriptive statistics involves the measurement of the mean, for finding data and assessment questionnaires. Meanwhile, the frequency and percentage were used to measure the level of students' perceptions. The results showed that students agree that music education provides them with pleasure to mean 2:43. In addition, this study also made to serve as a guide and reference by other students in the future.
