Abstract
In summary, this report describes the use of Industrial Building System, IBS to replace conventional methods in the construction of the roof of a government project where the truss structure is pre-installed at the factory before being brought to the construction site. This study only focused on the construction of prefabricated steel trusses provided by the PWD for construction projects based on the experience of the district office for five months at the construction site. This report is divided into several sections that begin with background and the role of PWD organizations in the construction industry. In addition, this report also explores the background to the project and use the IBS system for the construction of the roof of the building. As a result of the observation that the use of methods of installation of prefabricated steel truss huge benefit compared to conventional methods in use to save costs, reduce wastage of building materials, construction speed and produces high-quality construction quality. In this report also describes the theoretical study that covers the types of IBS products in the construction of the roof, the materials used in the steel truss system and a lack of belonging through conventional construction methods.
