Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the link between knowledge of a household, panic buying and government rules and regulation with a factor that influences household food waste behaviour in Petaling Jaya. This study used quantitative methodologies and convenience sampling, comprising 382 Petaling Jaya homes through questionnaires. This study found that understanding household food waste behaviour among the Petaling Jaya public is influenced by the knowledge of a household, panic buying as well as government rules and regulation. According to the findings of this research, knowledge of food waste are the most significant factors that lead to household food waste behaviour in Petaling Jaya. As a result, the government, as well as the rest of society, should work together to ensure that our citizens have a strong awareness of the environment and practise better environmental management in their daily lives. This discovery also gives information that may assist our government in raising public awareness about household food waste.
