Abstract
The study focuses on the relationship of possible factors of social, personal, and mental illness on the high tendencies of the suicide rate among Malaysians. Other than that, this study is measuring the awareness level of people regarding suicide issues in Malaysia. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there were over 800,000 attempted suicide cases each year, with one suicide case happened in every 40 seconds. According to Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Adham Baba in the year 2020, a total of 465 attempted suicide cases treated at the Ministry of Health has been recorded from January to June. Therefore, this study is proposed to investigate the possible factors on High Tendencies of Suicide Rate among Malaysians. The quantitative survey questions method is used and a total of 350 respondents in Malaysia were received from this survey. Pearson correlation and multiple regression were used to analyze the data findings. The findings show that the level of people awareness and all the independent variables has a positive relationship with the high tendencies of the suicide rate among Malaysians.
