Abstract
The purpose of this research is to investigate how zakat institutions in Malaysia handle property zakat payments. This research examines the zakat payment technique used by a zakat institution in Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur. The study discovered that zakat payment mechanisms supplied by zakat institutions, including corporate and non-corporatized zakat institutions, are not standard. As a result, this study will investigate the effectiveness of zakat payment methods used by zakat institutions in Kuala Lumpur's capital, as well as the relationship that exists between zakat payment methods used by zakat institutions and the amount of zakat collected by any zakat institution in Kuala Lumpur. This study employs a quantitative approach based on interviews with a variety of people involved in zakat collection in Kuala Lumpur. To have a beneficial impact on raising the amount of zakat collected in the future, the effectiveness of the mechanisms offered for zakat payment by state zakat organisations must be developed.
