The perception of the public in the career of gynecology / Eylia Amanina Mohd Rosli and Muhamad Amirul Fikri Rahmat

A career in the medical field includes the care or treatment for an illness and injury. This is a humanitarian profession and has been classified as a noble profession. Doctors play an important role for the survival of mankind in improving the health of the nation. Medicine in Malaysia has been expended to more specialization and now it was expanded more than 40 specializations. One of them is Obstetrics and Gynecology, Physiology, Pathology, Urology, Andrology and Fertility, Anatomy and other else. Based on statistic from Ministry of Health (2016), there are has 139 of public hospital, 2837 of government health clinic, 195 of 1 Malaysia clinic and 667 of dental clinic in Malaysia. During the reign of the sixth Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Razak has much initiative and transformation was made in improving our system in healthcare to make it more competitive and responsive to current healthcare need of the population such as introduced Klinik 1Malaysia and also healthcare is the fifth of priority in budget 2016. According to Ministry of Finance Malaysia (2016), in Budget 2016, Barisan Nasional Government has provide a continuous project for health service such as building a new hospital in Pasir Gudang, Kemaman, Pendang, Meran and Cyberjaya, allocate RM848 million for Kuala Lumpur Women and Children's Hospital, RM260 million to build and upgrade rural clinic, health clinic, dental clinic and allocate RM4.6 billion for supply of medicines, consumables, vaccines and reagents to all government hospital and clinic. It is show that our government tried to provide the best of health quality.
