ARK755: Architectural Research / Faculty of Architecture, Planning & Surveying

The course exposes students to architectural research paradigms to develop students’ critical thinking in defining problems and seeking solutions on issues of architectural concern. The course output is a research proposal, written in 2000-3000 words that includes the research topic, research questions, theoretical background, argument of research strategy and method, and a bibliography. A topic may be chosen from a range of research themes namely Advanced Construction Techniques, Materials, Environmental Assessment, Urbanism, Behavioural Studies, History & Criticism, and Digital Architecture.
