AAR686: Architectural Practice / Faculty of Architecture, Planning & Surveying

The course will give a general and broad overview of the construction industry with focus on the architectural and the allied professions. The roles played by the Architects and the allied professionals in society and built environment will be highlighted. This includes the legislation bodies and authorities that regulate and control their practice and operation. The structure, set-up, organization and types of architectural practice will also be taught. Students will be taught on the stages of project implementation from design to construction and various types of documents that form the contract with focus on drawings and specification.
