A study on talent training program curriculum for preschool music education in China / Li Zi Ying

Objective: This study aims to identify the appropriate musical skill sets for preschool children, to analyze the current talent training programs for preschool music teachers in China and to explore the competency of the talent training programs for preschool music teachers in China. This study analyzes three music courses (Piano Foundation, Music Synthesis and Music Activity Design) in the talent training programs of ten preschool education majors. Combined with relevant literature, it analyzes whether the content taught in the music course in the existing talent training program is suitable for training preschool teachers. This study uses the method of content analysis to make statistics and analysis on the learning time and learning content of three music courses in ten schools. Through relevant literature, identify the appropriate musical skill sets for preschool children and conduct a comparative analysis with the learning content of these three courses. By analyzing the music curriculum in the talent training program and combining with the relevant literature on the music curriculum setting of preschool education, it is found that among the talent training programs of these ten schools, none of the school's talent training programs is the most suitable for training preschool teachers. Since the talent training programs of these ten schools lack the learning content of chorus knowledge, song composition and analysis, and basic command knowledge, they cannot fully meet the music skills required to teach young children.
