Abstract

Multi-functional recreational open space including green spaces and parks are the core of built environment elements especially in the local neighborhoods in way for encouraging variety of community physical activities behaviors. Generally, the space forms an urban ecosystem that exposes widely to the community and is carry together a complex pattern of economic and social relationships besides it also represents the important focus on sustainable urban development. Accordingly, Taman Tasik Kuala Krai is a part of urban public open space that plays an important role in the term for generate economy and also provide beneficial space for the community to create livable activities in the community area. The multi-functional and compatible system applied also eventually balances people's daily outdoor activities, environmental protection and stormwater management. The aim of this study is to rejuvenating urban space with participatory and ecological function in the scope of multifunctional recreational space through environmental education within the local community. Besides, application of education, recreation, social connection and also environment that being integrated and mixed in one space that being beneficial for local community, school group, family and also supported by tourist while, recreation space within eco-friendly and ecological function aspects were applied in way to encourage community in term of appreciation and concern on the provided amenities and natural environment also for future generation.
