Abstract
Zakat is the third fundamental pillar of Islam .The objective of zakat is to distribute wealth to the less fortunate Muslims community and therefore reduce poverty rate among Muslims. The aim of this study is to examine whether the asnaf that received capital assistance from Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAIJ) possessed the characteristic of successful entrepreneur. The primary data were collected using questionnaires distribute to the asnaf. The data obtained from the questionnaires will be tested and evaluate using statistical software or SPSS system. The initial finding of the study showed that the asnaf entrepreneurs do have a certain level of entrepreneurship characteristics.
