Abstract

The victims of sexual harassment should be protected by the Malaysian government because it is a crime. To do this, the Malaysia Criminal Act, the Employment Act of 1955, the Industrial Relations Act of 1967, and Regulation or Act 117 were all put into effect. The any victim residing in Malaysia is protected, without regard to citizenship or non-citizens, such as labour migrants, regardless of their legal status undocumented. Many unfortunate incidents have been taking place in woman’s case. Problems may come from any direction such as women walking on the road after the work, going to super market or many other reasons for which they go alone. People at home are not sure of their return safely. Another factor is woman die without knowing the reason as they attend excursions and industrial trips conducted by the organizations. It happens due to attacks on woman but not suicides. Fundamental human rights and protection through due process are embodied in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia, which is applicable to them regardless of status. The purpose of this essay is to find on how Malaysian should act to defend the victim or find the solution to fast protection from getting harassment in public. The Google poll for Woman Public Safety was answered by more than 150 women (between ages 15 years old to 40 years old) who took part in the study. Simply by result most of them has been experienced sexual harassment especially for those who lives in the busy crowded city. I was discovering the level of knowledge, understanding and opinions of Malaysians towards this issue. Therefore, most of the respondents were agree and aware that Women Public Safety should be taken seriously by Malaysia authorities, because this is about safety and image of Malaysia, if we keep ignoring this issue other country will be afraid and uneasy to come visit because they will start to think Malaysia is not really a safe country to stay. So, in conclusion, the defence strategy used by females needs to be revolutionized by adopting modern technology and gadgets to protect them from their oppressor. This device is an answer to all the women who deserve a safe and secure world.
