Abstract
The objective of this study was to identify the impacts of open burning toward human health and environment in Selangor (Klang & Kuala Langat). This study used a quantitative study as the research design. In addition, the questionnaire comprises four sections consisting of demographic data, open burning, impacts on human health and impacts on environment. Then, the researchers use cross-sectional study, which involves 384 respondents living in Klang and Kuala Langat. All of the respondents were given a set of questionnaires via an online platform. The results are analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics 22 and all responses will be interpreted in order to study the relationship between the impacts of human health and environment on open burning of waste. This study establishes the significant relationship between independent variables that have an impact on human health and the environment. The results show that open burning has a positive significant relationship and affects human health and environment. Hence, the findings of this research indicate that all parties, including the government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), households and individuals need to play an important role in reducing open burning of waste to reduce impacts towards human health and environment.
