Abstract

This research is on the thermal comfort level in female praying area at Surau Bestari Iskandar Perdana in Seri Iskandar, Perak. The factor that contributes to the human thermal comfort level in the female praying area is the temperature. Thus, the main focus of this research is to determine the temperature level of its surrounding surfaces. The research methodology covered the literature review, and data collection through observation and photographs. The first stage is data collection through reading material, as the secondary data. The reading material must support the topic of research study. The second stage is to observe and take photograph that involved the activities of human behavior. The last stage of data collection is to take the measurement the reading of thermal comfort and the percentage of humidity in the air for the female praying area. Using the data derived from the systematic observation with various methods, this study found out that the temperature for the Surau does not achieved the standard of the thermal comfort level for the users. The users felt uncomfortable during certain time, such as the peak hour of praying time
