Abstract
As we know, fires often occur due to human negligence or lack of knowledge and awareness of the dangers of fire itself. Every day there are news of fires in homes, factories, schools, offices, and hospitals. Every student should be exposed to fire hazards as well as how to operate each fireplace with the help of teachers or school staff. Fire safety management for school buildings should always be at the best level to ensure the safety of all residents in the school. It is also important to ensure that every resident in the school is properly protected from fire risk. The objective of this study is to understand the fire safety management required in schools, determine the level of compliance with fire safety procedures in schools and identify the level of awareness on fire safety management at schools in Perak. To achieve the set objectives, this study was conducted through observation and questionnaire methods. Each data obtained was analysed through frequency analysis and content analysis methods. At the end of this study, it was found that there are several elements that need to be improved in terms of procedures and knowledge about fire safety management. This is to ensure that the fire is prevented from the beginning and does not cause anxiety to the occupants. Effective fire safety management in primary school is a very important matter because the safety of the occupants is a priority in terms of safety.
