Abstract
The aim of this project is to aid paddy farmers by giving them an early warning detection of paddy diseases so that the farmers can take the necessary countermeasures to protect their crops. By combining Artificial Neural Network algorithm with Fuzzy Logic Expert System we tend create a prototype for detecting the paddy diseases. The prototype will be mounted on the rear or front bumper of the tractor so that the farmers can do their daily routine while the PaDDI Kit is able to scan through the paddy field simultaneously. During the scanning process the PaDDI Kit will capture images of all the paddy plants in the area. If the software detects any disease, the images will be stored into the database and the images of the plant that doesn’t have any disease will be deleted. At the end of the day the farmer can check which part of the plants were infected with diseases by checking it with the in-house software and the farmers then can take the necessary action to prevent it from becoming even worst.
