An innovation backpack jacket: for kids / Nur Syahirah Abd. Ghani, Nashuha Shabirah Ideris and Noor Hana Othman

Nowadays, innovative ideas and products are mushrooming rapidly. Most of them are designed for adults or workers. But, innovation outfit for children are rarely found as they are known as complicated persons. As a beginner, they need to learn many things but in the easiest way. The best way to help and simplify their education is information being gathered into one, so that, they can learn faster. The issue is nursery trip. During the trip, various possibilities can occur such as cardiac disease,, dirt on the dress and many more. Teachers are also not able to bring their entire student’s stuff. Other than that, aspect of children safety also is a priority. Children can easily fall and get injured. We do not recommend being over protective of children because young children are hyperactive. The aim is to create an innovative collection based on kids and nursery needs. The objectives are to study the uniform adopted by children in nursery, to produce garments that provide comfort to children and to help children easily handle their things during outdoor activities. So, this project will propose “the backpack jacket” complete with safety aspect. Prototype 1: The product is a kids jacket that is attached to a bag. The bag is removable and can turn as sling bag. The jacket is attached with hood that is kept under the collar and can be used during rain. It also includes a patch pocket to keep name tags. Prototype 2: The product is a kid’s jacket that is attached with backpack. There are a few pockets in the backpack to keep the things safely such as cloth and medicines. The jacket also has hood made in water proof material as a standby to the rain. The jacket also can be turned into a hand carry. Prototype 3 : This product is produced as safety jacket. The front piece can be turned as backpack and is able to carry small things such as drinking bottle. From the aspect of aesthetic value, the design is very cute and childish with a combination of very bright and cheerful colours. The fabric used is cotton as it is very comfortable and absorbs sweat. The material is also of medium weight so as not to burden children. So that is very suitable for children. As the conclusion, our products can help educators and teachers give more attention toward kids. The result, these products are able to reduce the impact of any injury, allow preparation for sudden incidents, is very stylish, and looks smart on children.
