Abstract
Solid waste management can be defined as a systematic way of controlling, collection, treatment and disposal of generated waste. In other word, it concern on how a particular community manage their solid waste. However, nowadays, solid waste collection becomes more complex to be managed, as the generated household wastes are mixed with their wastes and human excretory waste such as faecal matters. This study seeks to analyze the community practices on solid waste management. Besides, the aim of this study also is to analyze the association of community education on solid waste management, their awareness, government initiatives and the attitude of the community towards solid waste management. And for this research, Taman Bukit Setia was chosen as the area of study. In this research, the methodology used is by using the sample survey in which sampling method was used in choosing respondents in the study area. Primary data was used through questionnaire to collect the information from the study area. According to the data gained, it shows that 126 respondents from 150 respondents dispose their waste with throw their waste into the dustbin. Pearson Chi-square analyses result shows that only government initiatives has associated with community practices towards solid waste management in Taman Bukit Setia, Sepanggar (p<0.05, p=0.005. However, the community education on solid waste management, their awareness and attitude of community towards solid waste management are not correlate with community practices whereas p>0.05.
