Abstract
Nowadays, mobile phone has become important parts of our life including elderly. The mobile phone usage can possibly play a significant role in supporting older people in many ways especially in terms of maintaining social relationship, providing sense of safety and accessibility. Currently mobile phone design is not suitable for elderly user with age 56 years old and above especially in Malaysia context. This study conducts a qualitative research to report the issue of mobile phone design focuses on size and shape faced by elderly also to examine the relationship between the design problems with the elderly limitations. This study used interview instrument and usability testing to gather data from elderly. The question and task were mainly distributed to older persons who use mobile phones independently in their daily routines.
