Abstract
The main objective of the study is to assess the current condition of thermal comfort at learning area in the university. Data obtained will be used to make recommendation for improvement. The study was conducted in Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak 1 (PTAR1) involving three levels which are level 3, level 4 and level 5. A portable environmental monitoring station called BABUC A was used to measure the indoor environment of PTAR1. The parameters that are measured include the air temperature, mean radiant temperature, relative humidity and air velocity, while a set of questionnaire was distributed to persons who occupied the area during the measurement is in progress to determine the clothing insulation and activity level. All of the captured parameters were analysed using InfoGap software to determine the actual condition in the selected areas. Then, these conditions were compared with European Standard ISO 7730 to verify whether it comply with the specification. Based on results obtained, the current condition was found to be at discomfort level and necessary recommendations have been suggested to improve further the current condition.
