Development of android application: Learn Kelantan Dialect (LKD) / Raja Amirah Raja Azuwan

There are many application about the dialect but any application for Malaysian dialect does not have. In this paper, researcher study about one of the dialect in Malaysian which is Kelantan dialect. Researcher found there are a problem about to learn Kelantan dialect. The problem is Kelantan dialect difficult to understand especially to non-Kelantanese because it have own pronunciation, vocabulary and syntax. The main objective of this study to identify the requirements, to design and to develop Android application: Learn Kelantan Dialect. The scope of study is Android user, language which is Bahasa Melayu standard to Kelantan dialect and Bahasa English to Kelantan dialect, and the last one is agile model. Agile model have five phase; focus on planning, requirement analysis, design and building. The explanations of agile model in chapter three. Data for the research were collected through questionnaire distributed to 88 respondents. Findings and analysis of the research show that the population of user that use Smartphone (Android) and Kelantan dialect is higher. The percentages of respondents that use Android is 87 % and respondent that do not understand Kelantan dialect is 40 %, 60 % understand and not sure whether understand or not. The result show the LKD Android application should be develop. The significance of developing is people can learn Kelantan Dialect language and can pronounce the words of Kelantan dialect. For the future work of the project is developing others dialect of Malaysia in one application and use the others platform to develop like iOS. The conclusion is Android application LKD is develop according to the requirement need.
