Development of interactive mari solat sunat mobile application / Abdul Muhaimin Musa

Solat sunat are the prayers that carried out by muslim by his own volition whether at night or day. This prayer is the extra prayers voluntarily in addition to solat fardhu. Because of Solat Sunat is the voluntarily prayer, people in Malaysia especially Muslim community lack of exposure and less understanding about Solat Sunat. It is one of the pillars in Islam and must be exposed to all Muslim especially for adult in the age range of 21 years old onwards. Nowadays, proper knowledge of solat sunat can be taught by using different approach because of the evolution and revolving on the technology. The growing technology of mobile devices encourages the development of mobile learning application. Learning mobile application is becoming more popular nowadays because of the portability of the application which it is run on mobile devices. With those kinds of advancements related to the technology, solat sunat can be learned and taught by using advance mobile technology as a device and mobile application as a medium to learn that Islamic knowledge. Furthermore in the current situation, the users face problems in get the good material to learning solat sunat. Thus, this project is about the study of developing a Mari Solat Sunat mobile application for android. The objectives of this project are to identify requirements, design and develop a Mari Solat Sunat mobile application. Users can learn the lessons that related to solat sunat from the application. The technique used in collect the requirement is by interviewing an expert in Islamic Knowledge and, Muslim UiTM students. From the findings, the users' majority want the application that included with interactive media. Last but not least, in order to develop a good solat sunat mobile application, comparison between several existing of mobile application that related to teaching and learning of Islamic prayer had also been done to see the pattern and feature on how those kind of application is being developed to fit with the users. The development tools used in developing the the application are in adobe dreamweaver, xampp, ripple emulator and phonegap. The most suitable methodology in developing this application is the Mobile Application Development Life Cycle model, because of its systematic approach in developing mobile applications. All the systematic technique has been used all the way to finish this project in order to develop and come out a good mobile application. In the future, the application also can be improved by provide a forum, increase the types of solat sunat, provide the bilingual languages and many more enhancements can be taken in order to deliver the good mobile application to the Muslim community.
