Usability testing on knowledge information system for student portal (KISS) in Olympia College / Muhammad Zunnasri Md Isa

Nowadays, the development of academic technology has been growing rapidly in line with the development of other technologies. Academic technology is widely used and can be seen through courseware or self-learning material. A documentation of student record data is important in order to build an effective learning material. Portal is an important to use for searching and navigation sites that provided a starting point for web consumers to explore and access information on the KISS Portal. The original portals were search engines about students' information. The initial value proposition was to improvement a full text index of document content data of students and lecturer. Therefore, KISS Portal is developed as an online application system for monitoring performance and record data students at all branches Olympia College in Malaysia. However, these system never been evaluate since was created in 2007. Based on initial survey surrounded by community KISS Portal, users were not very keen to use the system in basis of system friendliness. Application portal had limited contents and critical information factor in branches of colleges. Furthermore, this project focuses on study of usability problem in KISS Portal, in order to investigate the actual problem in system need to implementation. These research projects also identify the effectiveness', efficiency and satisfaction of user community in Colleges about KISS Portal. The usability testing was conducted to get feedback from user testing session, interview and tasks accomplishments. The result was analyzed and significance to improvement system for the future recommendation at Olympia College.
