Abstract

Long before the beginning of recorded history, people realized that blood is essential and meant differences between death and life, when cave men speared and animal, the blood gushed from the wound and the beast drop dead. Before people know what it is blood, people thought that evil and good spirits were present in the blood itself. People regarded blood as the mysterious secret of life. Today blood is not a mystery but everyone knows that it is vital form of life to us. Blood is the elixir of life. It is essential to the body function. It is pumped by the heart round the interior network of arteries and vein, from before with until death. The amount of blood in a person's body is depending on the size and environment of the individual, for example for an adult weight 160 pound (73kg) the amount of blood in his body is 5 quarts (4.7 liters). People who lives in the high attitudes, where there is less oxygen, have more blood as much as 2 quarts (1.9 liter) than the people who live in the low regions. This extra blood is to capture the oxygen that needed by the body.
