Determinants of financial derivative usage in Malaysia

Augustine, Allan Valentine (2021) Determinants of financial derivative usage in Malaysia. Degree thesis, UiTM Johor, Segamat.

Abstract

This research study investigates the Determinants of Financial Derivative Usage in Malaysia using the Panel Ordinary Least Squares (POLS) regression method, based on econometric principles. The sample consists of seven financial companies in Malaysia, yielding thirty-five observations collected from their annual financial reports spanning the years 2015 to 2019. The findings indicate that firm size, liquidity ratios, solvency, growth opportunities, and market value are all significant factors capable of explaining the usage of financial derivatives in Malaysia
