Abstract
The researcher analyze about the indigenous language in Malaysia. Most of the people in Malaysia not aware what is indigenous language. There not many application about the indigenous language available yet, this research intend to study about one of the indigenous language in Malaysia which Semelai tribe. Semelai tribe are the largest population of indigenous tribe in Malaysia. This application will help user to interact with Semelai people. This application contains favorite's words, spelling suggestion and history of searching words. Online database are used in the project does it is not overload to the phone memory. This application can act as the platform for Malaysian and tourist to learn more on the indigenous language. The scopes of study are Semelai and Android user, Semelai people can use the application in order to preserve their knowledge and let's people in Malaysia now about Semelai people. Language use for translations is Malay and English to Semelai Language. Methodology used in the research is model rapid phase development(RAD). In the RAD model consist of requirement and planning, system design and development phases. The tool used for data collecting is questionnaire. Analysis has been done using descriptive statistical using simple statistic tool. From the questionnaire it shows that 95% of the respondent does not know about indigenous language in Malaysia. For the future works, the researcher hope to have more enhancements to the application which is more indigenous language can be added and the application is used all by people in Malaysia.
