Proposed new design for Kimarie Salon and School at No 39, Lot 283, Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur / Elya Mardiah Ahmad Suhaimi

The final project of interior design for diploma is the manifestation to students' understanding on process aspects of interior design that has been studied from the basic to presentation level of design proposal. After all the critique sessions, I have selected to propose a new branch for Kimarie Salon and Academy. The intention of this project is to let the community knows about the existence of this hair salon and academy. To solve the design issue of this project, I have to come out with a new design scheme for the salon while matching the design with salon's personality. The research method for this project is on my observation on mostly women who really conscious about their hair care and also on the local and international salon and academy. In addition, to design hopefully, I will reach the goals and mission of doing this project and to conclude this, I will do my best for the outcome to be functional to the user as well as the aesthetic of the design. Other than that, several researches on case studies have been carried out. Throughout the observation, salons nowadays have the same input on design method that they do not give attention to, for example the function of the design. In other word, they only care about the aesthetic value of a space rather than the function.
