Abstract

The condition and the quality of the exposed brickwork in historical building is one of the most fundamental components of the quality life. The title of this research is maintenance on exposed brickwork in historical building. The topic covered the maintenance of three case studies of exposed historical brickwork building. Building maintenance is essential task that should be undertaken on the exposed brickwork historical building so it can serve its purpose and have long life span. The maintenance work different depending upon the age of the building and its type. The older the building, the greater the maintenance work. The purpose of the research is to compare the maintenance works done to different exposed brickwork historical building. It is also to identify the defect and failure which normally occur on exposed brickwork historical building and knowing the right remedy that should be carried out. This is done by interview the people involve in maintaining the exposed brickwork in historical building. The research findings will also include an analyze of problem occurred for maintain that building with doesn't have schedule.
