Abstract

There have been many significant events in the field of environmental management, however these projects describe the management under International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification system in the housing development. The monumental event is' expected to occur in 1996, with many organization s starting to prepare now. Many committees around the world to establish this new environmental management set of standards are presently spending a great amount of effort. This regulation that require environmental management systems are implemented almost daily in most countries. It has always been challenge for the environmental manager to decode which systems to design and how to implement them in a cost effectives way. When you add the comprehensive environmental management system that will now be requires for ISO 14001 certification, the task for he environmental manger could easily become overwhelming. This dissertation was prepared to offer practical guidance concerning management system necessary to achieve ISO 14001certification which in turn will help meet the regulation.
