Untukmu Baba / Farhanah Abu Sujak

UNTUKMU BABA is a visual representation of artist’s first composition of poetry that she wrote after she lost her father in February 2021. A poem that consists of five paragraphs, is an expression of what she was feeling during that difficult time. Both artwork and her poetry are to honor her 40 years of loving memory with her beloved father. This will be a beginning of series to recollect the journey and memories of her beloved father; his passion and love for his family and friends, the people around him, his country and his community that brings a smile to those who remember the man that he was. Using a digital art form, the artist uses a subject matter that is close to her father to symbolize his presence, his liveliness and contentment. Elements of arts and design such as line, colour, shape and form are applied in this artwork, to produce a structured art piece of harmonious and warm composition. The selections of colours and textures are chosen to emphasize the nostalgic tone and emotions that aspire the artist in the first place. Moreover, it is a representation of her late father’s love for traditional culture and artistry.
