Abstract

This paper is a discussion on the economy of crude petroleum industry which is the factors that may affect the production of the crude petroleum in Malaysia. It is an approach to forecasting the time series of the production and the factors affect the production of the crude petroleum such as the price, domestic consumption, import, and export of crude petroleum over period from 1985 to 2016. Malaysia is one of the most oil-exporter in ASEAN country which means that crude petroleum is a mainstay of Malaysia economy and plays a vital role in order to shaping the economy of the country. The current crisis in world petroleum is that the demand keep rising year by year however Malaysia seems to have lower production of the crude petroleum. The demand come from the higher consumption of oil in world which is China and also India. This paper use the multiple regression model in order to identify the significant relationship between the factors involved and the production of crude petroleum.
