Abstract
Cooperatives serve to stabilize the global economy and played a vital role in the Malaysian economic. There are a total of 10,087 registered cooperatives in Malaysia, with a total membership of more than7 millions of people. The problem a rises when there are too many inactive cooperatives that can be dismissed. The number of inactive cooperatives in concerning. The purpose of this research is to study the factors that contribute to the resilience concept of the successful cooperatives that have been chosen by the author. The method used in this study is a questionnaire survey using the instruments that were mainly developed based on past studies. There are only eight cooperatives that are listed as the top 100 best cooperatives in Selangor by the year of2017. The author chose three cooperatives that consistently showed their good performance in their respective field. Variables tested were the success of the chosen cooperatives as the dependent variable whereas the independent variables were the planning skills, leadership skills, and the management skills. The data were analysed using SPSS version 20. Through correlation analysis test, the result proves that there was the significant relationship between the successful phenomenon of the cooperatives with planning, leadership and management skills.
