Assessing career understanding of muamalat field among students of muamalat programme, in UiTM Shah Alam / Syahirah Jamil

Before choosing a right career, understanding about career is becoming more important for young students today. Besides that, students have to understand into a field that had been involved. Many factors can influence a student's understanding in careers such as interest in the field, awareness in career development, personality, influential people or any role models in a student's life. Decision of students taking a programme in the university such programme in Muamalat also can effect on student's career understanding and choices. The objectives of this research study are to evaluate the level of understanding among students about the career in the Muamalat field and examine the level of knowledge students in Muamalat field. A part of that, this study is to find out what is the solution for any weakness of the level understanding of career in Muamalat field, among students' programme in Muamalat. This study used quantitative methods which are surveyed through questionnaires among students' programme in Muamalat. A questionnaire was developed to examine areas of understanding and knowledge of students in Muamalat field. In addition, questionnaire for this study was developed to measure student's preparation in facing industry after graduating from university. The questionnaire was completed by 90 students in the UiTM Shah Alam who taken programme in Muamalat. The researcher used the frequency and cross tabulation to analyse data that has been collected from the questionnaire. Lastly, this paper expected to open mind of all people that Muamalat field is very important in our life and students, especially those who involved in Muamalat field must have a good understanding in the area of career in Muamalat field then, students can survive in the industry after graduating from university. Apart of that, better understanding and knowledge among students bring the development of Muamalat field.
