Abstract

The Grand BlueWave Hotel Shah Alam was opened on the 1st April, 2000. Located at Persiaran Perbandaran Seksyen 14, 40000 Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan. The Hotel is owned by Kuala Synergi Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary of Orix Corporation Malaysia and managed by ORIX HOTEL INTERNATIONAL Pte. Ltd. The name BlueWave takes it cue from the famous ORIX BlueWAVE, a professional baseball team, which is under the ORIX Group. The ORIX Group acquired the team in 1989, and renamed it ORIX BlueWave. In 1991, the team home ground was moved to Kobe, where the local fans have taken the team to their hearts. After taking the Pacific League in 1995, the team made a clean sweep in 1996, by picking up both the Pacific League and Japan Series title. A household name in the world of sports, BlueWave represents the best in its field. Therefore, by adapting BlueWave as the name of the Hotel, it is expected the same level of professionalism will be delivered from the hote staff, if not better.
This hotel has obtained few international certificate which make this hotels stand has its own signature compared to others hotels around this city. In 2006, this hotels has been honoured to be certificate as the 5’s star rated hotels by the ministry of culture, arts, and vacation. Besides that, this hotels also obtained the certificate of OHSAS 18001:2007 in 2008. This certificate is stands for Occupational Safety and Health Assessment Series which related to the safety of the workers and occupant in this building. Finally, the most recent is, this hotels has been awarded the certificated of Islamic Quality Standard for hotel design. This means that, this building is operated based on the Islamic concept such as not serve any non-halal food to the customers except if they wish to. Below shows the front elevation plan to shows the different of level of the building with its function of the building.
