Abstract
Kampung Periuk is a village area that is often hit by flash floods. It has also been proven that Kampung Periuk was hit by flash floods because it has been published in several newspapers. Therefore, this study aims to recommend an action plan to mitigate flash flood at Kampung Periuk specially to examine the impact of flash flood on residents in Kampung Periuk and identify determinant factors that contribute to flash flood. Moreover, this study also to propose mitigation measures to curb flash flood at Kampung Periuk. In this context, flash flood is totally dangerous to all lives and also non-living things. A flash flood is defined as a sudden and destructive flow of water caused by heavy rainfall, correlated with an inability of the drainage system to accommodate the rainwater and the occurrence of such flash floods. The method that been used in this study is quantitative research methods which using questionnaire. In order to strengthen the study, secondary data was gathered through readings from books, journals, conference papers, newspapers, and other sources. For the result, to curb the flash flood, knowing the factor and impact is important to make sure recommendations made so far have been successful in preventing this problem from occurring.
