Abstract

Aural-oral skills wereoverlooked and neglected for years and was one of the contributory factors which led to the learners' failure to acquire communicative competence. Learners were unable to communicate accurately and effectively due to lack of practice and exposure.
In view of the problems, the researcher has decided to prepare a kit with a variety of materials and most importantly some suggested activities to improve the speaking skills. The communicative type of activities that will generate communication=based practice to the learners. These activities will help the learners build or develop their fluency and also help them experience the language as used in real life situations.
The activities will hopefully provide the opportunities for learners to use the English Language in order to achieve the communicative competence as they are encouraged to be actively involved in these activities.
