Audio Visual Aids Centre (AVA) of Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Jerangau Barat, Ajil, Terengganu / Norhayati Shapii

The Audio Visual Aids Centre (AVA) is part of the Resource Centre in Sekolah Kebangsaan FELDA Jerangau Barat. The Resource Centre consists of a few rooms such as the library, the computer laboratory, Reading Project or Nadi Ilmu Amalan Membaca ( NILAM ), the Audio Visual Room ( a place where teachers bring their students to watch television on special education programmes or “ TV Pendidikan ”) and Audio Visual Aids Centre (AVA). Audio Visual Aids Centre (AVA) is a special room which contains a lot of instructional materials for the teacher to use during their teaching sessions.
Nevertheless, the importance or the function of the room was neglected by most of the teachers. There were lot of reasons contributing to the lack of interest among the teachers. Most of the materials such as word -cards, sentence strips or charts are not useful anymore because the subjects were not included in the latest syllabus such as ‘Alam dan Manusia’ and ‘Tatarakyat’. In fact, some of the materials are not used at all by the teachers.
In the past four years, Audio Visual Aids Centre (AVA) of Sekolah Kebangsaan FELDA Jerangau Barat, Ajil, Terengganu was not effectively used by the teachers. This report contains the information and analysis of the study. The analysis includes a detail definition, data analysis and recommendations for implementation of solutions.
The researcher concluded that the major problems were financial and time management. The researcher tried to find out the factors that inhibit the teachers from using the materials provided. The researcher interviewed informally some of the teachers with different years experiences in teaching and gender. As a result, different gender addressed different answers.
