Abstract

This study is about how to create an interactive learning process in the ESL classroom. As we know, English has been labeled as alien language which being rejected by the students especially the students in rural areas. Using music as teaching approaches could be enhancing student interest and decrease student’s anxiety in acquiring and learning the language. This investigation was centered on the following question: Does student change their attitudes towards learning English if music is used as teaching materials. The subjects in this study consisted of 40 students. Correlation and regression analyses were performed to determine if any statistically significant relationship existed between the study’s variables of interest. The results suggest that student will engage in the learning process and integrate their language skills through language learning by using music.
