Abstract

The purpose of this study is studying the barriers faced by women in making decision. This study was conducted at the Shangri La Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa in Kota Kinabalu. There are 30 respondents in this survey. The research objectives of this study are to analyze attitude and behavior as a barrier in women as decision maker, to analyze limited access to information as a barrier in women as decision maker and to analyze whether there are significant differences of attitude and behavior between married and single women as decision maker. It was found that, attitude and behavior and limited access to information do not constitute as barrier to female managers in Shangri- La Tanjung Aru Resort and Spa Kota Kinabalu in making their decision. It also found that, there are no significant differences between married or single female managers toward attitude and behavior as a barrier. Attitude and behavior and limited access to information may constitute as a barrier to female manager at different workplace.
