Abstract
Nowadays, the existence of the handicraft industry in the economic development of the country plays a very important role. The legacy of handicrafts to the present generation has been inherited from generation to generation, has helped many generations to build as well as maintaining the work of their hands. However, the handicraft industry is still not fully developed because of the negative perception of society to the opportunities of the handicraft industry in the market. Tourists visiting Malaysia unconsciously about the diversity and quality of Malaysian handicrafts offered (Hassan, 1990). Malaysian handicrafts have divided the craft industry into several main sectors namely batik, wood carving, products of copper, songket, mengkuang, bamboo crafts, pottery, jewellery, crystals and leather goods.
