Abstract

Marriage is a unification of two people, from their first days as a husband and wife through their meaningful years, married couples have the tremendous task of witnessing to the faithful love for one another and their children. However, marriage not always continued until life's end. The dissolution of marriages in Malaysia grew by 6 percent, with 63,463, (2015) cases as compared 49, 965 (2014) and there are no signs that this rate is slowing down. The objectives of this study are to dete1mine the factor affecting the decision for a divorce, to examine the variable that contributed to a divorce the most and to define how many counseling sessions are involve in a couple's decision to get a divorce. In order to understand this study, 75 married couples are selected for this study. These samples being analyse by using descriptive analysis and logistic regression. This study is getting data from Mahkamah Syariah Pulau Pinang. The findings show that 21- year-old with less than 4 years of the duration of mmTiage are attempt to apply divorce. Morever, the number of children influence the duration of getting divorce in which couple with fewer child tend to have higher chance of getting divorce. In addition, couples who attend less than two counseling session tend to have higher chance of getting divorce. It also founds the duration of marriage and wife's age are the significant variables.
