Abstract
Ischemic heart disease (IHD) or known as coronary heart disease occurs when the major blood vessels supplying the coronary arteries with blood, oxygen and nutrients to the heart become narrow by plaque. Department of Statistic was revealed that in 2017, 13 .9 per cent of death in Malaysia is caused by IHD, thereby make IHD as number one cause of the death in Malaysia on 2017. Therefore, this study was constructed to investigate the factors that contribute significantly to the diagnosis of IHD and to obtain the best logistic model in diagnosis IHD. Logistic regression and stepwise analysis were handled with independent variable age, BMI, medical family history, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, tobacco use and diabetes mellitus. This study was carried out on warded patients at Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar, Seremban Negeri Sembilan. The result of this study was revealed that all variable in these studies which are age, BMI, family medical history, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and diabetes mellitus can be used to predict the diagnosis of IHD.
