Abstract
This research aims to determine factors that affecting the prices of gold in Malaysia. Therefore, this research has investigated the dependent variable, gold price (GOLD) and the independent variables to be used are macroeconomic factors which are crude oil prices (COP), exchange rate (ER), inflation rate (INR), interest rate (IR) and stock market (SM). Several theories and researches relevant to the research objectives have been comprehensively reviewed throughout the literature review process. The theoretical framework has led the research towards the perspective of how to answer the research questions. The secondary data have been gathered through the journal,
news, World Bank's World Development Indicators and Index Mundi website. This research covered data for 29 years period which are commencing from 1990 until 2018. In order to achieve the objective, the multiple linear regression tests have been used, and the analyses of the findings have been discussed through regression analyses. Through the analysis, the result shows COP, ER and SM show a significant
and positive relationship with GOLD while INR and IR show no significant and negative relationship with GOLD. Based on the findings analysed, the conclusion of the research study was developed. Finally, several recommendations were made in order to generate more years and more data to support and being a significant result
